Our Journey

An Invention is Made

Differential Boundary Deposition, our core technology, was invented by Phillipp Kragl, Matthew Johnson and Michael Tucker at the University of Stuttgart through research at the Institute for Computational Design and Construction and the Institute of Building Structures and Structural Design.

Powerful Backers

In December 2023 funding was awarded by the German Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development through the Zukunft Bau program. Strabag Innovation and Digitalization joined the partnership with additional funding and critical expertise from the construction industry.  This partnership will finance core technical development at the Uni Stuttgart ICD through Q1 2027.

Scandenta is Born

In September 2024 “Scandenta” entered the stage as a new corporate venture through STRABAG’s adASTRA Intrapreneurship Program.  At the 2024 Innovation Day in Cologne Scandenta won both the audience favorite award and a record-breaking investment from company executives.  We are especially grateful to late CEO Klemens Haselsteiner for his vision, energy and enthusiasm for innovation, both in the initiation of Strabag’s innovation programs and in his strong personal support for our vision.

A New Stage Begins

Scandenta is gathering partners, conducting analysis, and planning our next big technological step.  We are building up our business model and focusing in on the most fruitful entry point for our technology into the marketplace.  Things are changing at a rapid pace and partners like you can still play an important role in the development of our solution.
